It was ESure can't remember the bodyshop some big industrial unit in Fife. Clearly all they did was Insurance stuff. Quite a while ago now.

Funny, I had a terrible repair authorised by Esure.

I had to have a dent repaired in the yeti tailgate and replacement bumper etc when it was only 7 months old,LV sent me to a citroen dealer/bodyshop and it was  a perfect repair job and stayed that way for the 4 years I had the car.as apposed to once when I had a car repaired at a big city multi insurance repairs body shop which had dozens of cars parked up for repair and I rejected mine 3 times for poor quality,so you can never tell.

There are a few big industrial vehicle repair centres in Scotland.

I was at one this morning near the Friarton Bridge in Perth.

@Aspman One of these in Forfar.

If it's Forfar I'll go see Douggie and Deke in Service road.

An update from the OP:

I have now had my Fabia repaired and returned to me.  Initially the chap at LV= was not helpful when I said I wished to use a Skoda approved body shop, I got the impression that it was going to cause them some extra work and delay their resolution of the matter.  I went to Citygate Colindale (VW, Skoda Body shop) who issued a quote to LV= Who in turn sent a rep to view my car and do a bit of horse trading with the body shop.  Car was taken in and repaired, I was given a VW Golf to use whilst my motor was with them, very good of them but it was just one more thing to fret about, what if I dented it! (See, some of us will never be right)

I have my own car back and it is like new.  I had a £250 excess to pay to the body shop and I am looking forward to my insurance renewal quote in a couple of months with anxiety but that is life.  Thanks to all who gave me pointers.

Final update from the OP:

I was concerned that I would face a hefty hike in premium on my next renewal even though I had protected no claims.  So the time has  come and the bill is an extra £40.

So good stuff on the part of LV=.  Yes I have renewed the policy with them, lets face it they have stuck to their word, good for them!

Good to know - I'm with LV as well
