No Cruise Control

Featured Replies

Following the tutorial posted here, I tried to clean my cruise control switch, and was greeted by a weird sight:

There is no removable switch, just soldered contacts. All have good connection it appears and the switches appear clean.

Even trying without the cruise control rocker thing, I still get the same error on my maxi dot, about an error with the driver assistance system. I can't access any menu on my maxi dot, just the phone settings, and the rest, I can't seem to figure out how to open(?)

Error codes show as well, about implausible signal. Do I just need a new stalk?

Have you done anything else to the car as the coding doesn't look right to me.

There is very little to go wrong in the switch, the on/cancel/off switch makes contact with the 5 pads in the middle of the PCB. You should be able to check it with a multimeter to see the resistance change depending what you press.

Thanks, I’ll try a continuity test tonight and see what’s happens. Could this be as the clock spring was changed, maybe with the wrong module?

Hold on, are you saying that you've changed the clock spring and that's when you started having issues?

If so, can confirm the old and new part numbers and what coding the old module had?

I bought it already having the clock spring replaced a few months before I purchased it :(

Since owning it ive taken the existing clock spring and rewired the ribbon inside and now I have flappy paddles and MSFW back, just this issue now :/

Seems like the switch was fine, the steering control module had a very strange lcode.

I'm sure the OP will confirm but last night they said it appeared to be working normally after recoding.

Yup thank you langers :D airbag code remains but all is well, it’s been so helpful :)

All thanks to you!
