iPhone won’t connect to Amundsen

Featured Replies

Both my wife’s and my iPhones are paired to the car but for whatever reason it doesn’t automatically connect to the car and therefore no infotainment. Blue tooth is on so is personal hotspot and WiFi is enabled on the hone but when you go into the settings it shows the phone is there, not in white/highlighted but it won’t connect.

The little red world stays red, on the odd occasion it goes white we have no idea how it’s happened.

Also you can go into the WLAN settings and the phone is there but it just doesn’t seem to want to connect.

is it a school boy error?

Is it an iPhone 6s by any chance was speaking to connect today and they said they had issues with this model connecting  tried again today no chance

doesn't it have to be connected via usb for infotainment?

I can connect the Apple or by mirroring  but to use WLAN it won't connect unless I am outside my house going to stick with mirroring my phone it got all I need on it

Dont you have to set up a personal Wi-fi HOTSPOT  between the iPhone and the unit

Yes I spoke to Skoda connect they said move away from my home and try and set it up I switched it on entered the code from my phone no joy ☹️

Well that the entirety of my knowledge ,apart from saying delete phones and re-pair to the unit, best of luck.

Thanks for your help I think I wil just mirror my phone and give up

Never give up ,somebody on here must have the knowledge or is it just iPhone 6s and older, wouldn’t have thought so.

Thanks for the replies,

so so far my phone seems to connect but not sure why and only after a while ie 10 mins.  So the world symbol goes white it connects to mine but not my wife’s when all iPhone (7  & 8) settings are the same ie Bluetooth on, personal hotspot on. Even yesterday when it seemed to be connected you couldn’t get the infotainment function.

all very confusing and now we think the usb connector in the car is dodgy as apple play wouldn’t work with numerous cables.

I have a Fabia (May 2019 build) but there seems to be more discussions here about the  Amundsen.

I am having a problems connecting my iPhone XR to get the connect services.

I did speak to Skoda about the issue and I was told that there was an incompatible issue with the version of Bluetooth on the iPhone 6 upwards and the Amundsen.

This caused a problem in getting a consistent connection when using the iPhone Hotspot.

I do not have any problem with using the iPhone for hands free calling or Apple car play.

In the Fabia forum I was aske about the 2 speed limits showing and yes I also get that

I have given up trying to get an internet connection using my Iphone XS. If I get it to connect it lasts a few minutes at best.

I have fitted a MIFI in the boot powered by the 12v socket. It's on permanently but doesn't seem to cause any issues.

100% connection, 100% of the time. Subject to signal of course

Skoda Connect on mine is not particularly useful but I do like the Skoda One App.
