Skoda warrenty

Hi, does anyone know what can happen if skoda cannot fix an issue within warranty?

I have an issue with HBA, not working, and went to the dealer several times, removed the error - not worked, remounted and calibrated the camera - not worked, changed the mirror and the camera - did not work.

Now the car is at the dealer again.. waiting for into.

What should I do? What are the options if they cannot fix?  - Even the message from the factory.. was I don't know.. try a new camera...

thanks.

I guess they will just keep swapping parts out for new ones until it's fixed.

Robert the Bruce warranty.  Try try and try again and in the end get somebody in with all the gear more than just an idea.   Maybe a youngster with knowledge of modern or not so modern bits.  . Only the biggest car manufacturers in the world. Why would they or favors technicians know stuff.

Did it ever happen in extreme cases, that the factory would change the car if they cannot fix the problem, regardless of the problem.

There should be an end solution to this.it's been 3 months going on 4 and none of us have time to go to the dealer every 5 days to try again something?

I know there are legislations about it, if they cannot fix.. in a time period...

Just to get things clear :)  I am not dreaming  of having Skoda exchange the car, I am very happy with it except this problem. Paid for this option, I want it to work. So simple.

But this issue it's very frustrating and time consuming. After every so called fix I have 2 drive at night for several/hours/days to reproduce the issue.

There are laws in the UK that allow you to reject a newly bought car with faults that can't be rectified, but it kind of depends on the fault I guess.  Have you tried Skoda Customer Services?

Well  the car is not exactly new. Has 1 year. Did not contacted Skoda support yet.

I will give one more chance to the dealer. They said they have ordered from Skoda “the big expensive calibration machine”. Don’t understand what they were calibrating until now.

If still doesn’t work after that will try to find some legal way to fix something.

So new updates.

A new "expensive" calibration machine came from Skoda factory, and the dealer calibrated the HBA camera.

No successful result. It worked for the first 50 miles.

So now, it's almost 6 months since the error was noticed (not appeared) and the dealer tried multiple "workarounds" , new mirror with camera, and new camera calibrated. No results.

Even the dealer does not know what else to to if the calibration does not work (their words not mine). Tomorrow I will bare the news (that still does not work) to them.

Has anyone any idea what should I do?

Thanks.

At the moment you are dealing with the dealership, stop doing that, to them it's just a job, raise your complaint through Skoda & let them chase the dealership & Skoda Technical Dept to resolve this issue. Without Skoda kicking some arse, this matter won't get resolved.

In addition, I can better you've been driving a loan car of a lesser model whilst they've been working on your car. But, I bet you're not paying less to be in a lesser car, whilst they muck about you drive a lesser car than you're paying for.

I wouldn't be standing for that, I'd be making sure loads of arses got kicked until the car worked as it should & as you've paid for

Yes, I was thinking of contacting Skoda, but I can only see a "Contact us form" not sure how significance this brings....

Don't they have a support page... something... cannot find anything.. a more official way of sending them a message.

If it's all under warranty and your current dealer can't solve the problem, I'm at a loss why they didn't send the car to a dealership who already have th necessary calibration equipment. Personally I'd let another dealership have a go at resolving the issue. Customer services may instruct another dealership to look at the vehicle.

Regarding rejecting the car - In theory you have up to 6 years (5 in Scotland) to return the car but it becomes very complicated after 6mths from purchase - not only do things like normal wear and tear come in to play, the onus is on you to prove the fault was present at the time of sale. That's nigh impossible to prove, would cost you an arm and a leg and there's no guarantee you'd win. On top of that, I doubt any court would find in your favour as it's simply a minor inconvenience i.e. it's not as if the car can't be driven. Realistically the owner would receive compensation for an accessory that doesn't work rather than a whole new car.

So on a completely different note:

So why do people start sentences with 'so'?   'Like' used to be the fashion for a while - you know, where people would like make a comment, and like use 'like' for no apparent reason.

What's the purpose of so?

So, pardon my so, English is not my primary language.

To get back to the issue at hand, I know it may look like a simple minor inconvenience, but  in my opinion can cause major damages.

Le's say I'm on the road, ILA works, high beams are on, a car comes, they don't turn off (and I am not use to doing it manually, never done it; it has to be a habit for you to get use to it), and accident happens.

What then?

I am not asking for anything but to have this fixed.

I want to send a message to skoda but don't know where is the official way. :(

Ask the dealer.  Tell them nicely they've had plenty of time to sort it and now you must take the next step.  That might push them to try something else.

I did that just today.

Their answer was: It’s probably because the windshield was dirty that’s the problem the car need to have a clean windshield; if the windshield gets dirty then you need to delete the error and clean the windshield and drive along again.

I haven’t heard anything so stupid in my life.

I told him that the windshield is clean and you need to fix the problem.

This is why I want to complain to square that but I don’t know how!!!
