SMF conversion on 2.0tdi Octavia?

Featured Replies

I'm due a new flywheel (and will do the clutch at the same time) when my 2007 L/K Octy goes in for its MOT this month.

However, I've heard plenty about the SMF only being available on the 1.9 engine but nothing of note about the 2.0 tdi 140 PD? I've got my eye on a Valeo (assuming this is the best make) kit on EBay but at £300 I'm not willing to pay it if it's not really recommended or wouldn't actually fit correctly!

Has anybody got any experience with doing this on the same engine?

Basically on 2.0 with a 6 speed gearbox the consensus is do not fit a solid flywheel.

It will rattle like mad.

The 5 speed fitted to the 1.9 is quite a different design to the 6 speed.

Same as above as I was advised by my vw specialist to stick with the dmf for 2.0tdi if you don't want to ruin your car as the gearbox was designed around the dmf.
