Black Design Plus Pack (17/18) - Is this 19" Wheels?

Featured Replies

I'm potentially make a very long journey next weekend to look at a January 2018 Petrol vRS. However, it is showing as having the "Black Design Plus Pack".

Am I right in thinking, that amongst other things, this included the 19" wheels?

I've gone through the online configurator but have been unable to find this pack.

The car looks great from the description, less than 5k miles, Race Blue, Heated Seats (which nobody seems to take as an option). However, if this is 19" wheels I may have to think again.

Additional tyre cost and a harsher ride, I think I want to be running on 18".

Cheers all - helpful as ever I@m sure :)

If it does have the black design plus pack then yes it does have 19 inch Xtreme’s and it’s not an option pack you can spec new anymore. I had 18 inch Gemini’s on my car and now have the 19 inch Xtreme’s and I swear the bigger wheels make the car feel a little less harsh due to the superior construction method. The tyre cost isn’t massively more and the ride is pretty jiggly and noisy anyway so I’d still choose the 19 inchers again :)

Yes it will include the 19s. I don't find them as harsh as I feared they would be. Tyre cost is a concern though if you're a fan of decent tyres. 225/40/18 PS4 are £108 per tyre, compared to the 225/35/19 PS4S at £165 per tyre, although you can fit cheaper 235/35/19 at £160 each. Other decent tyres like Eagle F1 AS3 follow similar trends.

Thank you for that. Car in question (hope not breaking any rules) is this one:

It just ticks so many boxes, the mileage, colour, specification etc.

If I decided to go and take a look, for me it's around 240 miles in each direction. I always said I'd travel most distances for the right car - but obviously no point making that kind of journey if I'm ruling out the 19" straight away.

Maybe I shouldn't be quite so quick to dismiss.

the black design plus pack you got 19"xtreme's cornering front fog lights black mirror caps rad grille and roof rails with the estate .

the ride with the 19s is as good as the 18s if not a little better ride in some case's tyres are a little bit more to buy but it one of them thing

Just to confirm for you, that car definitely has the 19" Xtrem alloys fitted.

Definatey has 19’s on it.

Those brakes look tiny inside the 19s

Been there, done that & got the T shirt.

I didn't want the additional cost of 19" tyres so, I brought pre-loved 18" Gemini's, forked out on having them refurbed, all before the brand new car arrived.

Drove the new car on 19's for a week before changing to the 18's, oh boy did I hate those 18's, felt so bad (compared to the 19's) they were only on the car 4 days.

If you shop around you can get R19/235/35 around £105 for Eagle F1A3 or Michelin PS4S at £156.58 (incl.) at Costco with £50 off a pair or £130 a corner for the very best tyres ATM

I known what are being fitted to mine
