hello,

Superb with 16 inch wheels used as a taxi. Replacement car, same model but with

17 inch alloys. Will the meter need re-calibrating.

                                           thanks

Hi Battash and welcome. You need to compare the tyre size of your old car and new car for the circumference difference. If it’s within acceptable limits you shouldn’t have a problem. 2% is usually fine for most speedo’s but not sure with your meter

Probably not

PS - Usually best to set the subject to be something about the question/issue and not your Briskoda name

Check inside of the fuel flap - there is a sticker with approved sizes.

Fixed your post there.

Full list of type-approved wheel and tyre sizes here:

There will be variation in rolling radius depending on wheel/tyre size, tyre pressure, tyre manufacturer, level of wear, all of which could impact on your meter's calibration. Your best bet would be to contact the supplier of the meter and/or the taxi regulator in your area and see what they allow.
