  • No, you just have to find a convenient dustbin to throw it in once you've got it home.

  • Okay I've moved it to the main Fabia 1 section but if it needs Fabia 2 instead then let me know.

  • It's probably worth pointing out that that circuit I posted earlier is likely to be for a Fabia mk1 (can't remember tbh), not a Roomster. What year is the car?

If it doesn't work without the yellow and purple connected, measure what voltage is on them (if anything) when everything else is all good-to-go, you might have to earth them, possibly, if they're sitting at 12V. Or possibly the opposite.  I've no experience of the heater control modules though, so that's guesswork.

I really wish you'd mentioned earlier that the switch connectors were supplied!

Yes the loom has two plugs, one for each seat, and two plugs, one for each heater control. And the five wires that come out of the end of the loom. The main thing was, because the seats wer e going into a different car, where do the connections go, which is what you and others have done.

:) It's all good, I couldn't see the wood for the trees!

I can probably find a wire colour and location for you to splice into for the switch illumination if you change your mind about that down the line.

Please let us know when you get it going.

A big THANK YOU, to all who have contributed to this post.

The cold weather may hold up fitting of the seats. :nerd:

So, it was a really nice day Monday, and i was feeling good.

This was the day i decided to fit my Polo leather seats that i got last October.

In between, i have been figuring out how to fit the new loom and switches in my Roomster for the heated seats.

Popped into a local auto electrician to ask them about linking them up to my electrics.

Without you having to look back on all the previous posts, i ended up, once the loom and switches were fitted i basically ended up with, a wire that goes to ignition and one that goes to ground.

The seats are from a 2005 Polo, the Roomster 2008.  Electrician says, that going to be very complicated, your going to need, this, that and something else as well, its going to cost alot.

                                                                                  So what do "you" think.

Someone i was talking too, came up with this thought.

When you go to ALDI in the winter and you buy a heated seat pad that just plugs into the cigarette lighter, do you have to find someone with a computer to link it to the car ???

k7aus, that is a brilliant link. Thanks. When you have connected up your seats, did you then have to get them linked up to the car by a computer, VCDS ?
