Anyone use any of these VOIP services (Freetalk, Vonage)

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

I am looking at ways of shaving my bills and have decided to look at using one of the above V.O.I.P services. They seem pretty similar in features, and almost price wise.

Just looking to see if anyone on here has tried either and can offer any pro's and con's.

I like that fact that I wont have to have my pc on to use it, and free unlimited uk calls for

I use www.sipgate.com for calls to and from the UK from New Zealand.

Saves me a fortune and gives me a Leeds phone number that rings on New Zealand!

Cheers Rob I shall have a look round that too.

Whatever you choose you need to make sure that there is any agreement for connectivity with other VOIP Service providers and be aware, even though some say they do they may not.

Also you have to tak einto consideration for long distance VOIP calls you will get a delay...you can't defeat the laws of physics.

I have used them all as part of my work and wasn't impressed by quality. Was impressed with Skype using PC to PC.....talk to Colin in Warrington from down south in Basingstoke and call quality is excellent. Again though for longers distances you will get a degredation in quality.
