Leaking rear doors

Featured Replies

So after the last couple of days heavy rain seems my rear door cards are damp has anyone got a link to the guide for sorting this known issue.

Leaking rear doors is a very common issue to the Fabia (mine did it). If you haven't found the guide, it's in the "usefull Fabia 1 Topic"

There's at least a couple of youtube vids, this one seems to show sealing a good distance up the rear edge (almost all the way), which is vitally important due to the source of the leak onto the carrier being high up that edge usually.

Ah looks pretty straight forward b and q tomorrow then haha.

Did mine. You’ll need good facia levers and probably spare door clips that hold the card to the door as they go brittle and snap. Take your time easing off slowly. Clips not expensive on fleebay just get the right ones . Waterproof sealant and time. Now it’s fine despite the weather. No damp rear carpet and no fogging on inside after a couple of years. Don’t know why manufacturer never sorted as understand it’s still a problem.

Similar problem, but it will wait for better weather. Had the fronts done under warranty lots of years ago. Bloke I spoke to said if cards were screwed in, they replaced seals,if rivited then they used sealant. I'm tempted to seal a plastic bag on the inside of door, so that it gets between door and upper sill and keeps water out of car, letting it drain to the outside.

Now also thinking of fitting bilge pump to rear floors. :D
