Hi i just changed the DSG filter and noticed the new filter did not have the O-ring like the old filter, it was i bit "loose"  when installed it also. is this the way it is supposed to be? Cheers

Same problem here with the Meyle filter, it doesn't seem to fit. But Meyle claims that the filter will replace both OEM versions.

Ended up contacting Meyle. Filter is fixed when the housing is mounted. 

 

So it is normal that it seems to be loose when you set it in the filter housing. There is also a video on the meyle youtube channel which explains this.
