Air Filter Eurocarparts

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has already been asked but it's time for a service & I've always got service parts from euro car parts for previous cars, but they don't seem to stock air filters for the 1.4 diesel. There are various air filters on amazon but I'm not sure if it's the right filter, the car in question is a 2015 fabia with the higher power 1.4 diesel engine.

Fram and Mann in stock in Barnsley ECP when I checked with your model year engine.

Indeed they are, I entered the reg number & it didn't show anything, maybe confused the search due to the fact it's a 64 reg

Turns out the filters that ECP are selling are the wrong size & shape filters, I didn't know until the mechanic servicing my car took my old filter out & discovered the new one was too big.

2 sizes for fabia mk1, 2 and 3 the smaller one is for up to FL 2010 and the filter goes in a plastic carrying frame before fitting. The later ones are larger and fit directly without the frame. If you simply discard the frame, the latest larger one fits all fabias. Thats basically what skoda did starting in 2010 FL.

So if the replacement was larger, then someone may have previously fitted an old style (cheaper) filter and used an old frame for it.

The filter that's currently in it is identical to the one listed on mann filter, but the new one I bought from ECP is very different & the listed dimensions are also different.

Under £20 I think.

Sorry got wrong end of stick, thought you were talking about the pollen filter, please ignore my previous post and apologies. :speechless:

Being a bit shameless, I'll admit to thinking about buying a frame to use with newer cars that did not have one, nice and retro maybe, maybe not!

Edit:- that was in reference to xman's posting above!

Thanks I found it when I searched for the oem part number, the genuine filter looks a lot like a mann filter

Thats because it probably is, Mann is one of about 3 or 4 OE suppliers of filters to VAG.

The only VW Group car that I have not spotted the original manufacturer's part numbers on is my older daughter's late 2009 Ibiza 1.4 16V 86PS - so I have tended to buy a genuine VW Group part on line cheaply, a bit annoying not finding any makers markings on it or the replacement!
