Had a day's play at Santa Pod yesterday.

I think I'm running just about as fast a standard Fabia vRS will go. I got a best of 16.53 secs at 86mph late on, which was pleasing.

Not so good was smoking my clutch on a second gear launch, but the smell has gone this morning......

But one thing that did raise an eyebrow was a chap there in a Ibiza Cupra TDi, rempapped and had a filter. With a complete interior minus spare wheel, he managed a best of 14.63 @ 96mph. Now that to me seemed rather fast, what chance a Fabia running that quick?

Remember he's running 160 bhp as standard and perhaps more you can't see

I would guess the remap would push it to around the 200bhp mark ;)

Oh dear i thought VRS were fast.

My Automatic 2.0 capri does high 16's.

FMIC, GT1749VB and a remap should do it. So about

Well I certainly gave 4.6 Mustang a fright. Dunno what was wrong with him' date=' but I was neck and neck until about the 1/8th mile, after which he pulled a coupl of lengths on me by the finish.

And i have independant photgraphic proof. The track photgrapher must have been sufficiently impressed/amused, as he took photos of the full run. They are posted here:-

Starting from the left side, five rows up from bottom, you have pictures of us lining up, side by side up the track and the finishing times.

yeah its great when that happens i have pics of the capri beating an impreza rally car and a rs500.

The impreza missed a gear and the rs500 blew up but a wins a win ;o)

i hated getting beaten by 1.2 nova merits with calibra turbo engines that'll teach me o try and pick cars i can beat.

Might take the skoda along sometime and see what i can beat not alot probablly

I managed a 15.2 in my old car with a remap and panel filter. I had done 20 laps of Donnington though 5 mins before i did a 1/4 mile, so i was suffering from heat soak quite badly. I imagine a well prepared road going mapped fabia would do 15 dead. You did well with a stock car though :)

I did a 14.84 1/4 mile at Elvington last year just after remap, with no spare wheel or parcel shelf. Had about 6k on the clock at the time and the engine was running sweet and had been driven lightly before that.

Ibiza Cupra TDi has a larger turbo and an FMIC aswell as weighing a bit less. Some German tuners quote 220 bhp from a remap. Most REVO'd ones are around 200 bhp.

My Fiancée's best friends partner ownes one which is standard and it feels smoother than mine but doesnt have the urgency that a remap gives, but it's still very quick.

There's no black smoke coming out your exhaust!! obviously you weren't trying hard enough!!:D

Hi Reffro nice to have met you, get it remapped and you'll be closing in on 15secs well done with 16.53 thats good for 130 bhp!

I love waving the tdi flag did you see the worry and shock in the revo'd mk5 gti with 260bhp, the civic with supercharger (280) and clio cup (182) best time they got was 14.7 it was funny!

couldn't believe the run i did 16.63 was a v good run, i gopt 14.84 in first run and didn't think i was going to get better and then i pulle dit out of the bag

i'm gonna take out seats next time and get a 14.5:thumbup:

was going to get a hybrid turbo up to 230bhp but think it is fast enough really the extrsa torque will have driveability and grip problems. and 1/4 mile run would prob just get low 14's

the day dragged on due to a oil dump and a drag car rolling over :thumbdwn:

Hello chap,

nice to have met you to. The chap in the Golf was rather worried, but right at the end he got a 14.5 run, to restore his smile. He was really very relieved to have beaten your time.....

Having had a look at my slips I sure I can get another tenth off my time, but that's it, as I don't have the patience to remove my interior etc. Hell I still had my bowling balls in the car on Sunday.

I'm off next on 13th May when I hope to meet a few more of you guys on here. Have a look at this thread for the list of people going..

i know i remember hem gettin the 14.55 only 0.1 seconds faster but 60 bhp more??? something like FWD limitations spring to mind!

i would have still been ****ed the car cost 21,000 + a remap!

but i know there someone on here called devontupia with 220 bhp i would love a run with him that would be a close run!
