Roomster Scout Rear Coils

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm trying to find the correct rear springs for the scout version of the Roomster 1.9Tdi, I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the subject. I've looked across lots of different manufacturers, several say not for scout version but none say ok for scout. Any information gratefully received.

Hi G, are you looking to just replace or upgrade springs?

I'd just planned to replace existing, I would love to know about upgrades as long as it doesn't involve lowering.

Hi G, most upgrades do involve lowering to some degree.

If you go on the "free stuff" site you will find some free suspension for your car on there. It's still in good condition.

Thank you for the info, I'm possibly a little too mature to lower the car so I'm looking to replace without paying dealer prices.

Eurocarparts do some for about £80.

But I wonder why replace if not broken.New springs will not improve the Scouts harsh ride.Only changing the low profile wheels and tyres to the normal smaller roomster ones, will smooth the ride.

Just a thought.

I agree with Bobspark.

I've owned both Roomster Scout and Roomster SE and I'm reasonably certain the suspensions were identical.

But Scout tyres were wider and of lower profile than SE tyres, and the difference this made to ride quality and noise level was considerable.

Thanks guys, this is actually preventative maintenance both the coils are corroded and I am currently getting the knock that tells me they are on the way. After fabulous service since new I thought I'd do the decent thing and treat the old girl before the next trip to the tip does for them!!.

Hi G, the suspension in the free stuff are standard and free.

Ok , i just looked at Coventry to Norwich , 2h 50.

Anyone going near Norwich ?
