You'll gain more noise. You won't see noticable increases in power and torque with any CAI as the standard airbox is pretty good.

Have seen gains of 8bhp on a Corrado VR6, which was pretty impressive. 2-5 bhp is prob the norm.

i'd like to argue that if you don't mind eddy.

when my car was mapped it had the samco TIP and BMC style CAI on it but recently whilst trying to pin point my fubar'd turbo we refitted the standard TIP and airbox to it with a new panelfilter installed. was noticibly slower revving and less powerfull with the standard kit back on, instant difference.

I don't mind at all. :P

I think the difference you noticed would have been the TIP though. Also I should say the will 'feel' faster with CAI which I think is partly down to the noise. I've seen extensive logging though and by far the best results were with a smooth standard airbox and cold feed pipe. Key points from the logging was that torque came in earlier and more gradual with the airbox but was always higher whereas with the CAI it was later but quicker so will result in the car feeling quicker.

Given all this though I still keep thinking about getting a CAI purely for the sound. :D

My vRS ran 182BHP and the only mods i have are a JabbaSport Induction kit and a Bailey recirc valve.

this was at JBS

Minor measuarable power gains, but you may find a greater usability range later on when asking more of the engine or on hot days/cold days etc.

More air in, better bang more air out etc.

the whole noise thing goes out the window with my though as its pretty loud and quite boomy inside!!
