Long press for folding mirrors

Getting annoyed with having to long press my remote to fold my mirrors in, is there a way to change it to single press? It's not available to be done via the ecu but surely there must be some method of changing it?

I think there is some kind of relay solution possible, but surprisingly expensive if I recall correctly

why don't you just use the switch in the cabin to do it?  I find that easier than long pressing the key fob

Yeah that's a good suggestion but I'm that forgetful I'd keep jumping out and long pressing the button lol. Major creature of habit!

There might be possible to do it if option are available. Go and check door controller coding. Probably you have to change it on both door's

 

[42 - Door Elect. Driver]
[Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> [Byte 4]
[Bit 6 - Undocumented (1 = active) in Binary String] 
=> Change Bit 6 to 1
Note : Bit 0 is at the far right of the binary string
The HEX value for this byte was probably 1C; Binary Value [00011100]
and the NEW HEX value should be 5C; Binary Value [01011100]

I guess this is what is known as a first world problem 

 

Not as bad as the Mazda we had, all the capability to fold the mirrors but no automation or even capability to fold from the fob.

what is this doing actually?

I would like to try this, but can get to it only in the evening.

What is bit 6 supposed to do, if it is undocumented?

Have you found this somewhere?

 

Not that I suggest it won't work, it already worked to deactivate ESP by longpressing the button, which is undocumented too...

Some people on the german forum reported this is already checked, but no shortpressing folds the mirrors.
