HELP Milltek Exhaust & Xenons PROBLEM

Featured Replies

I have a 2004 vRS with xenons, i have just purchased a full turbo back Milltek system and am currently in the process of having the exhaust fitted at my local dealer while the turbo is being replaced. I have had a call from the dealer today saying that they have taken the old system off, but the Milltek one will not fit as it interferes with the levelling sensros on the rear axle for the xenons. Has anyone else had one fitted and encountered any problems. I need to resolve this ASAP as the car is stuck on a ramp at the local dealers.

Thanks

It does fit, usually takes a little bit of jiggery pokery and rotating the clamp for the rear section.

Yep does fit and is tight as Ross says, I did a blueflame one the weekend before last.

Just spoken at length with the dealer again, he reakons it will knock, is this likely with the car lowered with Eibachs? Am i best just to get him to fit it and go from there? Any help greatfully received.

I'd give Milltek a call in the morning.

Not had trouble with knocking (yet). When Stu fitted mine it was once again dark (we keep doing this LOL).

Posted about this in another thread as well but basically two problems beyond removal of the OEM exhaust:

1. Gaskets are not supplied with the exhaust (BF at least, Milltek may be?)

The shape at the engine end is not very common apparently but if you order in time they may have some I suppose

2. The BF exhaust does not have the very pronounced 'stops' on the bracket (pin) that hangs the exhaust into the rubbers. This means it can slide sideways. I have purchased some jubilee clips which I will fit to hold it in place. Not had time for this as yet but it will be required for sure as the exhaust moved about an inch sideways at the back, misaligning itself with the cutout in the rear bumper.
