has anyone managed to remove and install back DSG shift knob?

I slide it back to the metal rod, but can not connect plastic rod to the button used for changing gears. 

I have searched the manuals attached, it seems it could be described in 34 shift mechanism, but I haven’t managed to find it.

Whilst not an ideal answer as it's more Kodiaq orientated rather than Karoq, but I believe the DSG boxes to be broadly similar, take a look at these:

I think those called T17 or A-Pillars plugs

As the Karoq is broadly similar to the Kodiaq in electrical terms, try this:
