Does anyone get this funny defrost mark on the hood when frosted or snowed? It resembles to the grill shape, isn't it? The first time I thought someone did it on the street for fun but then I realized that it is consistent.

If you pop the bonnet, it will be obvious why. The heat defrosts the single skin areas faster than the rest.

 

The bonnet is single skin there and has sound proofing mat etc. The mark is we’re the reinforcement skin mounts to the bonnet AKAIK.

Well it was not the right weather for opening the bonnet  but I guess that it makes sense. It's just funny that it's like "echoing" the grill shape, that's why I posted it.
