Head rest guide not locking

Featured Replies

Is this a common problem that the head rest guides on the rear seats are not locking the head rest properly?

I can easily just push the head rest back down without depressing the little button on the side. Swapping the head rests does not change this. Can the guides be easily removed and replaced?

I thought that on all VW Group cars, the button was only used when removing the head rest completely - I could be wrong though.

There was a thread referring to front headrest guides and one needing replacement a few months ago. I am unsure as to if it got resolved as the guide was cheap but fitting supposedly a pain. Might be easier for the rears, might be just the same. Worth a trawl though, to see if the OP found the solution.

Just trawled a little and realised that the OP I earlier referred to, was in fact on the Yeti forum. I think the system will be the same, though but the person has yet(I) to say if they found the solution.

My Fabia rears do indeed, need the button pushed in, in order to lower them. They click up to full hight and need the button pushed in to either remove entirely, or re-lower them.

mrgf,

If you managed to trawl and find it, could you post the link to this Yeti forum please.

How to replace head restrain adjustment clip

Type or copy and paste that and it should take you straight there, hopefully.

I just typed in headrest clip in the search box at the top of the page, over on the right and up it came.
