tried to tell them that but they siad they have to follow the warranty procedure so i think this could be more visits to the dealer and then finally they will listen

Ask them what the warranty procedure is? 3 times they've tried to fix it and to no avail, don't see why you should have to keep taking it back for repeated visits.

This - you could always raise a case with Skoda UK Customer Services as I would say that 3 resets is sufficient attempts to fix the unit and it should now be replaced - be polite but assertive and make sure they realise how much inconvenience it is causing to keep having to return for them to reset the unit until the next time it flips.

that is a bizarre fault!

Tell them that you will now start invoicing the local dealer for your fuel and travel time for each trip that you have to make and advise them that you will not be collecting your car or returning their courtesy car until the unit is replaced.

I did this with Mercedes and refused to return their car until mine was fixed and the fault part replaced.....was sorted in 24hrs.

^ This..... but in reality, it shouldn't ever have to get to the point of advising the inconvenience.... having to go to the dealer for any warranty/fault issue is an inconvenience, none the less after 3 attempts.

You say back to the dealers 3 times but you don't say if that's the supplying dealer?

1: You need to make your supplying dealer aware of the problem and seek their solution.

2: If that is your supplying dealer, then tell them you will follow your consumer rights procedure. Put in writing to the dealer principal that they've had three unsuccessful attempts at fixing a problem. As it's obvious they are unable to resolve the issue, you will now take the car to a Car Audio Specialist and have them fix it. As per your legal right, you will expect the dealership to pay in full for that fix and if they refuse, you will recoup those monies plus your expenses via small claims court.

A warranty is not an excuse to bypass your legal right.

Should not need to be your supplying dealer. You have a 3yr Skoda UK warranty, not a 3yr Skoda dealership down the road warranty.

I agree that you need to start writing the right letters and speaking to the right people, but those people will be at Skoda UK.

Give Rod McLeod a start - [email protected] - he is the Managing Director of Skoda UK. You won't get a response directly from him, but your email will be with his office.
