Number Plate Fuse

Featured Replies

Blew the fuse when taking out bulb from number plate.

Can't see fuse position/ number in manual.

Anyone know which one it is?

Thanks

AP

I'm not sure the number plate lights are fuse protected? If they were I'd expect other lights to have fused too.

Which side?

There is nothing obvious listed in the fuse box on the end of the dash...

So perhaps check out the fuse box under the bonnet, it at least mentions 'rear lights'...

Thanks for the reply

it was the near side of the two that had blown... but when taking it out I shorted it... which stopped the other one from working....

I have had a look around the net at it seems that this doesnt have its own fuse....   Will try just fitting new bulbs to see what happens..

I have a 2010 1.9 as well so when I get back I will check in the manual for that.

Will update...

Thanks again

Hopefully you've just blown the other bulb.

Am sure I've had this before on seat toledos
You need to replace bulb then switch ignition on and off to reset bulb warning and it will come on

Yes indeed!

I managed to find that out today because I replaced the bulb after shorting it yesterday and it worked...only to blow again when putting the assembly back into the body

Rule 1. Don't have the lights on when replacing bulbs.

Rule 2. If you stupidly forget Rule 1 and cause a short circuit. Turn ignition on off which seems to reset it.

Thanks
