Cruise control

Featured Replies

It may be nitpicking but the cruise control infuriates me. Has anyone considered rewiring the stork so that the cruise control switches off when it is cancelled instead of having to click it two points over then re-engage it? It just seems wrong that when cancelled at, say, 70mph, and re engaged at 40mph it tries to accelerate back to 70mph. Arghhh. Why have cancel at all? Why not just on or off......

When now driving at 40, PRESS THE BOTTOM OF THE SWITCH TO SET 40.

Or press the top portion of the switch and it resumes at 70.

I never turn it completely off.

Ok, cheers. I will give that a go. I knew there would be some solution or reason it was set up that way.

Well that didn't work, on account of the stork having no button on the bottom. The only controls associated with cruise control are the plus/minus rocker switch and the three way on/cancel/off switch on the top.

OK. This is positively the last time I try to help with this one.

The top of the rocker switch resets to your old speed as previously set (70 in your example). The bottom of the rocker switch sets your current speed (40).

If the cruise is already set to, say, 50 the top half raises the speed 1 mph for a short push 5 for a long one, the bottom half reduces the set speed.

Enjoy.

If the OP looks closely at the cruise control it actually says 'RES/+' and 'SET/-' opposite the rocker.

I just leave cruise on permanently and use the controls as camelspyyder says.

I only flick the top button to 'Cancel' and let it flick back to 'On' when I am too lazy to dab the brake pedal to cancel cruise :)

It does indeed. Thankyou both for your patience and humility with my inability to read the instructions!
