Aluminium trim panel

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a silver/aluminium trim panel for the bit that goes round

the head unit and air conditioning controls - anyone know where to get these?

All I can find is the wood effect ones...

Incidentally, is there a parts catalogue of Skoda OEM stuff anywhere?

Rob.

Have a look at Butts ( ;) )

Milotec do some and as their agent Butts should be able to get them. These be them:

Carbon:

and stainless:

Milotek part numbers are 412/06 and 412/15 respectively.

I'd been looking at Butts for the best part of a morning, but didn't see

the stainless one :D

Cheers,

I would have been, but my client's firewall won't let me! ;)

Word of warning

regarding milotec parts etc

The cars are Left hand drive in their catalogue, and the dash is also handed.

Trust me on this one , if you look at the surrounds etc they are also handed ie a left hand drive part WILL NOT fit a RHD.

I only realised when i looked at them in detail

hope that helps

Hmm...good point Karl

Actually, does the vRS have an aluminium dash bit, or is it just

plain plastic? Not that it would be all that much use, as I'd run into

complications with the discrepancy between climatronic and twisty

manual dials.

Trip to Sainsbury's for some Bacofoil, methinks!

Rob

I could be completely wrong here so dont flame me :P

But doent the passat, cant remember what year, have a VERY similar layout to the OCTY.

Im sure with the number of aftermarket VW parts around somone would do something for these.

Just a thought, try an internet search

Karl,

Good thinking! Did a few searches and found a site (veneerz.com)

which actually has diagrams of all the pieces. I couldn't find a Passat

or Golf one that looked like it would convincingly fit the Octavia, so

I'm going to give up and put up with plain black. Or ask my dealer.

Cheers for the idea though!

Rob.

oi, don't dis the wood!

"in my defence, your honor, it was on the car when purchased, not of my free choice"

  • Author

I'm not dissing the wood, I'm dissing the wood effect...biiig difference! :P

Rob.

hehe, fair point!

I was tempted to rip it all out but I find (personally, don't flame me here) the normal dash a bit boring without it. If someone gave me a full stainless or brushed aluminium kit I'd swap it, but I'm not spending any money on it.

Is the wood effect just attached to the top of normal trim, or is it

completely different panels?

I could get some of that, and some thick carpets, and it would be just

like a Rolls-Royce...maybe even get a 3D version of the flying arrow

made for the top of the radiator...

:stupid:

Karl,

When I tried that site earlier it wasn't working! Dodgy proxy here...

Good price too, though I'm nervous about how much shipping would be!

And they use Paypal too...

Still, there must be somewhere in Europe that does these...

Thanks!

Rob.

I've just put in some wood flooring and have a couple of planks of beech left over. Make me an offer!

Hmm...I wonder if I could have the first car ever to be fitted with

laminate flooring...

Rob.

Too late, Rob! TaviaRS has the first (modern) Skoda with a wood floor. Read his post again... :rotfl:

PS If he didn't mean his car, then he's way :off:

:rotfl: Well spotted Denis!

I take it no one's got fitted wardrobes yet? Actually, that would be good

as I'm always finding random bits of shopping in my boot where

it's fallen out of the bags...

Rob.

Its got mirrored headlining as well

Edit to add: Denis, if its off topic, report me to the mySkoda moderator!

I'm not sure if they are stickers or not - certainly the ones from the

American site are flexible stick on things, though it requires alcohol

cleaning, prepping the plastic, sticking it on then using a hairdrier on

it! So very fancy stickers, but stickers nontheless :D

I sent the UK company an e-mail asking them whether they were

adhesive things like that, and about getting a sample of the material

before committing to buying, but I haven't heard back from them.

I share your reservation about parting with that much cash only to

find it's naff
