If everything in the world was as reliable as a Volkswagen the world would be in a worse state than it is now.

Thank goodness for Japanese Car Manufacturers.

Like with many muppets that you might give a jump start to, you tell them drive the car and let the battery charge, or go get it on a charger and they drive a bit and stop it rather than just keep on driving or going and getting it charged.

Personally i would be parking it over the entrance to the dealership, gate or door and they can move it the next morning and move their backends in sorting it.

How appropriate because if you get an ID.3 you might well be spending time driving a Nissan Leaf using a Taxi and being driven in one.

An article in German (with subtitles in English) about some of the software "features" early adopters will enjoy.  Some are minor, some are more annoying.  Other problems not mentioned in this piece have also shown up however, such as the 12v battery issue, flaky keys/keyless entry, flaky sound systems etc.  Personally I'd not be putting any money into VAG EV's of any make or model until it's all sorted.  Only reason they've released them before the systems are working properly is to avoid billions of euros of fines for not hitting emissions targets for the year.

It looks like she can not actually reach the screen from her driving position as in when moving and where her seat and steering wheel are so needs the voice control to change the heating.

It would have been a good idea to sort out all the software bugs in the ID.3 first - there was a big patch this month and another possibly even bigger one scheduled for February.

Personally I wouldn't consider ANY car with as many software issues as the ID.3 has at the moment - it makes the problems with the Golf 8 and the Octavia IV look very minor.

The Skoda Citigo IV that was trailed for long enough and is now discontinued but is still available around the UK should have had the charging cables, charging available and software and software updates sorted out before delivery and quickly after the 'issues' reared their heads.

'Simply Clever' is a term that seems lost on Skoda.   They need not only to be Simply Clever, they need to be a bit quicker dealing with issues and have the parent company deal with them as well.

It seems as though VW have a partial fix for the battery drain problem.  Still drains, but now the main battery recharges it before the car becomes a paperweight.

Would have been better to fix what was draining it in the first place, but perhaps that isn't a software fix i.e. VW would have to actually spend money replacing parts.

In Auto Express issue 1,665 news that platform sharing deal with VW and Ford that a crossover using the ID3 platform will arrive in 2023 looking similar to the Puma it will have a range from 250-350 miles. The ID3 is 4,261mm long and the Puma is 4,186mm long. The new model will probably be built at the Ford Plant in Cologne not far from VW's Wolfsburg plant. 58kWh batteries with either 143 or 201bhp or 77kWh with 201bhp also. Price wise it should span from £30,000 to £40,000.

VW has added a 148bhp Pro motor in the ID3 with the 58kWH battery and a claimed 263 mile range for just £28,670 after the Government EV Grant. Pro motor cars get standard 100kW DC charging and it does 0-62mph (100kph) in 9.6 seconds.

If they build a van they will sell / lease lots and lots, if they build an estate / van they will sell lots, and get magazine / social media coverage.

If they actually build a ID. Buzz and get it out with customers now then that is after years of showing images and concepts.

If they build a convertible that is wonderful, but it would be better building first what there are customers waiting for,
