Opening a new sheet a colleague would like to have the username (networked environment) populate field, for arguments sake lets say A1.

Scenario is user a downloads sheet and opens it, say it's a new PO form. One of the many fields is requesting user, this should be prepopulated by the forms author...

So wizzards of the underworld, how in gods name does one do this?

He's found out how to get an alert up (I think he said he had, bad phone line), any examples would be greatly appreciated.

Ta.

=GetKeyValue("My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer","Logon User Name")

Or summat like that - do a search on the =GetKeyValue() fn

Be careful using it cos if someone else opens the file it'll put their details in :D
