Brake upgrades

Featured Replies

So on my superb estate/combi it's running 312mm front brakes, if I'm not correct?

Are they the same set up mk2 octavia vrs?

Do they use the same hubs and struts? If they do there's loads of upgrades available.

The reason I'm asking is I'm looking at bigger brakes, 345mm from the edition 30 gold gti/Mk2 S3/Seat Leon cupra. Or even TTRS 370mm brembo upgrade. I've always updated the brakes on my car as a bigger brake set up looks better but the main thing is it performs better. I always say "better to be looking at it than for it!"

Any information that people have would be greatly appreciated as I've looked all over and not really seen much.

The V6 uses 345mm disks iirc.

I believe some people have had good luck upgrading the disks and pads to higher grade items (but still 312mm)

Thats what I'm thinking, the 345mm fill the wheels a bit better than the 312mm. I'll have a look on line at the hat heights and off set of discs

I was looking at fitting the 345mm discs but then read up on "rotating unsprung weight" and decided to keep the same size
Your hard pushed to see mine through my wheels anyway so I upgraded to Black Diamond Venom pads all round and Vented grooved "Rotordiscs"  which I got for a good price from eBay }
The black diamond discs were just a bit to dear for me

Wish I had upgraded when I first got the car as it was the only thing letting the car down was the braking ability
All sorted now with this upgrade  Well Pleased:cool:

The more research I do on this the more it points to the skoda using the exact same set up at the Audi S3/Seat Leon Cupra and the Golf R. They must use the same set up as when I bought my coil over kit, it was listed to fit 400 different cars along the V.A.G range, including the SEAT Leon Cupra,Octavia and Audi S3.

Makes sense: the Superb 2 is based on the PQ46 platform, which itself was derived from the PQ35 platform introduced with the mk5 Golf.
