My new Blueflame exhaust

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I had a Blueflame exhaust fitted yesterday and I'm pretty over the moon. Following on from the post in the new tuner in town thread see my pics below. The difference before and after the exhaust being fitted is quite big. It drives with more of an urge to it. When I first pulled away I was amazed at how quickly it went. There is clearly less turbo lag and quicker spooling up with a nice improved whistle. You get a nice grumble when you turn the ignition then it's not noticeable till you put your foot down. I love it. I did originally want a 6x4 tailpipe but Blueflame no longer make them because they apparently don't fit properly. APS are looking into other tailpipes for me and said they'd swap it if I'm not happy.

Enjoy the pics:

its great apart from the exhaust clamp mate.

Mid section sat to far to the left if you ask me, and as for that benelli (clamp) You wait till i see Andy....They could of turned it around at least

Phil

Yeah, that back clmap needs spinning around 180 degrees.

Just the clamp. Slacken off the nuts and spin it round and re tighten. Will look good then

I did think that was odd but the tailpipe may only be temporary so I guess it doesn't matter too much.

Cheers for the comments

Are the tailpipes clamped to the back box??

Are the tailpipes clamped to the back box??

That's what it looks like to me...

Did you get it fitted at Blueflame? Dissapointing that they don't do the different tailpipe options?

I'm sure Shifty's old car the tailpipe fitted fine?

the exhaust looks great. your looks better than that oval one IMO. the oval one is far too large for the cut in the bumper.

I had mine fitted at APS, see the new tuner in town thread in other vendors for pics and info.

Blueflame said that they made about 4 of the oval tailpipes but stopped due to them touching the edges of the bumper cut out and now only do the round. They only told Ed at APS this when he rang them up after seeing they had sent out a round but invoiced for the oval. Oh well I'm not overly fussed as the more I look at it the more I like it. I'm gonna wait and see what other options Ed can find for me though then make my final decision. If anyone is thinking about getting a Blueflame exhaust I'd highly recommend APS as they do a top job at affordable prices.

Full turbo back system or just backbox & tailpipe?

Full turbo back, couldn't see the point in paying for something that isn't gonna make a difference, and a difference it does make even with the generic one click.

Can you post a sound of it?

Can you post a sound of it?

I'll try get one using my mp3 recorder but it'll have to be put in the boot so not sure how good it'll come out.

I queried about the clamp being turned around and they said that there was not enough space for it which is why it is like it is, but Ed is still looking for an oval tailpipe and said when he finds one that's suitable they'll put a smaller clamp on so its more discreet.

I'm so pleased with the service I've had up to now and will be going back for all future work I have planned. Top guys.

Yes, Ed & Andy told me about it this morning when I went for (an old fashioned running in !!) 2,500 mile oil change. They are top guys at APS, and I love their attitude. Will be going in for a remap, Cupra air intake & exhaust soon. Haven't decided whether to go Blueflame or Milltech yet...........

:P Yes Andys already rung me and had a go about my post:rofl: "do you really think i would have put the clamp on like that if there was an alternative"

:) Seriously though these are top guys and will no doubt resolve matters just like my squeaking ARB

Phil

Squeaking ARB? - someone once told me a wipe of fairy liquid on the bushes works a treat ;)

Is welding not an alternative or am i thinking totally out the box here??

I managed to record my trip back from work to home but the quality is quite crap and there is so much background noise it's not very easy to hear the exhaust. If you do want the sound clip I can send it to you. I did try put it through a sound editor and remove the niose but it doesn't quite work the way I wanted.
