Spare tyre and toolkit

Featured Replies

Hi all,

3 tyre blow outs due to Lincolnshire pot holes this year!!  So i think it is time to invest in a spare wheel.  Can anyone advise how best to acquire:

and

(Skoda Superb 2011 spare wheel and tool kit)

I don't fancy nearly £200, any recommended sites/dealers or Fleabay?!

Thank you x

If you don't want the factory kit, just buy a full-size wheel (same as one fitted to your car then you won't have a speed restriction if you have 17 or 18-inch wheels) with tyre off eBay then buy a tool kit jack and insert etc off eBay.

I don't mind the space saver or a full size - i was just hoping for some recommended sellers/stores that people have used and would help keep costs down (i'm also worried i would buy the wrong kit!!).

Check size though.

Thanks AG Falco

Yes, my superb has 18" alloys, so that looks a good fit.

I can get the official kit for £172, whereas the wheel shop it is £139 - anywhere cheaper or do you think that is the best price?

Thanks for looking!

go to a local breakers yard and get the whole kit from a Octavia or superb for about £40

ebay delivered £75

Nice find!

Looking at my tyres, i am running on 225/40/18/Y/RNF - so is this suitable as a spare?

7j x 16 wheel for some reason officially in my boot 2011 combi.  but 6.5j x 16 works too. I may have a steel going spare but may not be for a month or so. No jack etc though.

Appreciate that, but you're a little too far away!

I have found these 2 and just about to hit buy, which one though?!

Bought the first one - thanks all!

Anything with 5x112 will be OK - I've kept spare from Seat Leon - instead of the spray kit that was factory fitted.

At least the breakdown services have something to put on if a tyre gets wrecked
