Greenline ride height

Featured Replies

Is the lower ride height of a Greenline Superb the product of simply 4 lower/shorter springs?

ive found my 13 plate isnt keen on speed humps

I think it’s just the springs and probably some geometry too. I’ve had 2 mk2 greenline superbs and the low ride height and long wheelbase are a terrible combination. When loaded I grounded out on humpback bridges, dreaded going on ferries and I still wince when going over speed bumps even now in my Octy vRS. I even changed my routes to avoid speed ‘pillows’. I’m sure these speed pillows when breaking up also chewed the inside up of my front tyres.

The culmination was when a certain tyre fitting chain ripped the under trays off putting it on a ramp.

They were both lease vehicles but I’d have been sorely tempted to change the springs back to normal if they were my own and I was getting any suspension work done.

The 16” wheels always looked a bit lost for such a large car but I’m sure the ride was better for it.

good luck

ive changed my daily route to avoid as many speed humps as possible but today i remembered my FL Mk2, i cut off the hangy down flap things in front of the front tyres, that wasnt a greenline but had the same issue
