Do I have SLA or not

Featured Replies

I just took delivery of my new Superb this morning and as there was confusion with ordering of SLA vs HBA, I want to double check if what I got is what I ordered (SLA - order code PWZ as instructed elsewhere on this forum).

Please see attached photos and advise is it SLA or HBA? I haven't had chance to test it on the road.

If the 7 ‘whiskers’ in the headlights are lit up then you have SLA

What does “lit up” mean? It looks like it’s just a reflection from the lights. Others mention that they are either LED strips or black bumps but to me it looks like silver reflective metal. :(

They are either raised LED strips or raised black plastic

Are those I attached then black strips or LEDs based on the photo I attached to the original post? They glow more than I would expect of black plastic but more than I would expect of LED strip. I’ll look more closely with lights off in the morning.

To me it looks like HBA...

The light unit part number suffix is ‘A’ and not ‘B’. Only B units have the SLA shuttering and illuminated strips.

The Lights menu does not include the ‘Dynamic Light Assist’ option.

The light strip photo is the gloss black plastic strips reflecting light which more than often makes them appear illuminated in photographs. Look closely at the rear shaded area and you can see they are not illuminated.

Yes, it looks like that to me too. I hate it when such things happen especially when I read through bunch of stuff to dig out which option code should be correct one (allegedly PWZ) and I still didn’t get what I wanted. :(

Ur part number ends in "A" - so no, u don't have SLA capable headlights.

Needs to end in "B".

Assuming u have the A5 camera - u can go as far as HBA.
