Yes as diesel declines in popularity Skoda now offers the Scout with a de-tuned 4 pot 2.0 petrol turbo with 187bhp compared to the previously available 181bhp diesel alternative, also available in Kodiaq and probably top of the range Karoq unless a Vrs version appears.

Did somebody tested this engine, and compared with other tsi engines. Now there will be 4x4 version but with dsg7 and not dsg6 like before in 180hp.

Should in theory be able to map to ~300bhp too

The 190 2.0TSI has been used in various VW group cars now, should be able to find reviews of the drive train at least in another vehicle

More like 250bhp for the 190 model. It's more than just a different map compared to the 230/245 spec engines. Think it has a smaller turbo and maybe smaller intercooler.

It’s a new engine for 2019. Well, new ish, has been around in other VW products for a bit. It’s the same EA888 engine the vRS has but with a different turbo. Map figures are around 260, if you want to go higher you’ll need an IS38 turbo.

You'll need to move out of the UK if you want any derivative of the Octavia Scout...

Maybe they will reappear with O4. When's that due?

Great the Scout`s already on the road will hold their prices better..

UK market was always with less options for some reason, now brexit?

Nothing to do with Brexit. I'd say it's just that the Octavia Scout takes sales away from the more expensive kodiaq maybe?

For octavia I was interested only in L&K or VRS, but i went for L&K, the trim under L&K was just missing too much.VRS tsi was more expensive and less for family, price very close to Superb. Scout has also interesting trim but it was not sold in my country.

On the money there, I think. Octavia’s sweetspot is being a great value family hatch or a hot-hatch-for-families vRS. If you want a bit more ride height and four-wheel drive...our SUVs are over there, sir.

I agree, there is Karoq for 4x4, but I was a little bit disappointed by interior, it is not like Kodiaq.

With you on that - when I switched from Octavia to Superb, I was nearly swayed by a Kodiaq, which hit the quality standard. The Karoq didn’t - felt bland, cheap and didn’t make any sense to me.

I recently sat in an SEL (UK spec) Kodiaq and thought that my wife's Karoq SEL which is £5,000 CHEAPER was a nicer place to be. Not even standard picnic tables in the rear of the admittedly bigger car. Won't be trading up. Her boss thought the Karoq was a BMW when she gave her a lift recently, says it all unless you think Beemers have poor quality interiors.:notme:

There is sportline coming, that looks much better:cool:

You will need to get rid of the IS12 first

The sister of one of the guys at AmD Tuning recently remapped her Audi SUV with this 190PS engine expecting 250-260bhp but was very surprised to see it push out over 300bhp on 99 octane fuel despite the smaller turbo.

Yes but they have gone for a far higher compression ratio on that engine, it will give more power with boost but I would like to see how long it lasts on someone else's engine first.

It is a compression ratio normally associated with a normally aspirated car. Running high boost with that compression ratio is not conducive to a long life. These cars run scarily close to stoic AFR all the time that I would want the map well rich before I went into increasing boost pressures.

This new EA88 Gen3B is a markedly different engine from the one before
