Looking through the owners manual while patiently waiting for my Karoq to be released for delivery to the dealers I found a reference to Launch Control on the DSG gearbox. Is this an option on UK cars if so, has anybody tried it and does it work?

It certainly works on the Kodiaq can’t see why it wouldn’t on the Karoq 

 

Not tested yet, but owners manual says YES

Nit-picking - speedo speed is hardly accurate, but we get the idea.

 

Haven't tried launch control (yet).

 

ps - I did have a bike fall apart last year after playing with 0-60 using a GPS speedo, timer, etc.

Never been tempted or needed to use this 'launch control' business in 13 years of DSG ownership.....and nor have I ever had any trouble or problems with a DSG box...…..unlike some people...….

Think I'll wait until my DB11 arrives before I try launch control. A bit pointless in regular road car - Carwow (particularly Mat Vlogs) seems infatuated with head to head comparisons of super cars.

Should be fun on Bridgestones.....

 

 

On dsg7 is useless, you don't have real launch control, it only limits your rpm before engaging clutch, dry 1500rpm, wet 3000rpm,and on new models there is no button to deactivate esp, I launch anyway with wheelspin in normal way, also braking with other foot is nightmare. 

You can not deactivate ESP,  you can switch off TC / Traction Control. (ASR).

I can both from infotainment menu

 

Etkin= Active

Kapali = Disabled

My bad, if you want launch fast just put dsg in S and floor it, dsg box will not slip like during launch control. If you have stock touring tyres it will depend on grip how you will start, for summer I am planning to buy PS4s because stock bridgstones (turanza t001) are crap. 

I heard that every VAG car that has launch control has launch counter, after the number is exceeded, launching is not possible anymore and warranty on car is gone. 

I heard RS3 has 400 launches

For skodas only vrs has real launch control. 

Funnily grip / traction can always be an issue.  As for the traffic light Grand Prix you look a right plonker doing the Launch Thing and getting blown off but some little old person 

in a Renault Zoe or the likes.
