No Auto in Diesels

Featured Replies

I notice in the 2019 specs for the Karoq that they no longer have diesel automatics.  Is there a reason?

That should have read in the 2.0 SEL.

Skoda seem to have rationalised the range (have discontinued some Octavia as well) due to slow sales in UK

Might be a lack of build capacity, as the manual gearbox cars (especially the 1.5 petrol) are poor, many any now choosing DSG instead.   Although the 2 litre requires the stronger DQ381 or DQ500 box, so presumably can’t build it as other VW group vehicles have first claim on production capacity

Possibly the diminishing diesel market (and its down to just 29% in UK) means no longer worth offering variations for diesel vehicles now that diesel is a minority.

The 20 Dec brochure (latest available) shows DSG with 1.6 diesel (although that might have changed)

In Finland the 2.0 diesel (2.0 TDI 150) with DSG gearbox are all 4x4 models.

The 2.0 Diesel Karoq with DSG gearbox has not yet been WLTP certified. I am waiting for delivery of mine, it is stuck at the docks (Sheerness), my dealer believes WLTP certification will be complete either the end of this month or next. Once WLTP has been approved I'm sure the Diesel DSG will appear in the lists again.

Funny how new top of the range Karoq Scout at over £30,000 can only be specified with the DSG box for the 1.5Tsi petrol engine, yet if you go for the 2.0TDi then you have to have the 6 speed manual, obvious really enthusiasts prefer to drive diesels.:DThis seems an  admission by Skoda HQ that the manual TSi models need fixing before Kangoroq's are unleashed into the European market, instead of their native Australia.
