Skoda Fabia 2011 1.2 Radio Question

Featured Replies

Afternoon all!

I am currently thinking about changing out the radio, i've seen how to remove it etc, but my question is this.

Instead of going out buying a kenwood or w/e, Can I upgrade it to a Skoda radio? Presently mine is a Swing but I need bluetooth (for music and phone calls) - I already know its a double din So please could someone recommend one that fits without getting adapters.

Else i'll probably look into converting double to single

Depending on the age of your car, have a look at the RCD330 (search 'Skoda RCD330' on fleabay). Fitted one to my wife's and it works very well indeed. If it's a facelift it will slot straight in without issue, if it's a pre-FL I believe you need a canbus adapter but don't quote me on that:

The FL was released mid-2010, therefore your 2011 is the facelift and this would slot straight in.

Be sure to read the reviews as it does lack a few features such as full RDS AF (auto-frequency swapping as the signal weakens), but offers built-in Bluetooth, SD slot for audio (only MP3 format unfortunately) and Android Auto/Apple Carplay/Mirrorlink - just be sure to get the right version ("no-name" branded 6RD 035 187B model). The fleabay "Skoda RCD330" listings are the correct version from seller eodaworld.

Do we know if there is any wiring diagrams for the original swing radio? I have an idea.........

What do you need to know ?

Wiring diagram may not help depending on what you want to do because of the internal curcuitry

I'm basically looking into replacing the head unit and making PiCar and I need to connect in an Amp so my speakers still work

Thats easy, buy the appropriate ISO connector for your vehicle, and there will always be a remote +12v to switch on an amplifier etc.

Whats a Picar ?

Raspberry Pi flashed and modded to suite a car stereo. Smart Radio
