and a very big thank you to denis (aka dgw) for supplying the cable i used to make up the loom (and it was his idea aswell) and for being the first "quinea pig" for this i have now finished up my "private jobs" until after christmas and in the new year i will be offering this service again possibly with other exciting retro-fit features in the mean time if any of you still want cc fitting before christmas give me a pm and i will consider many thanks to the few that have trusted my proffesionalism and expertise to work on there much beloved vehicles.

Have you noticed better mpg at motorway speeds?

Sorry, I was too lazy to create a new thread. I must give a BIG UP to Big K for the fitting of cruise control to my vRS about 2 weeks ago now. Price was right, professionalism was there and I've had NOT the one problem since.

My fuel economy has gone up by roughly 10%, mainly because I don't have to balance my heavy feet over the pedal anymore. Takes a little getting used to (resume is very eerie when you slackened off the speed), but on recent 100 mile trips to London and Leeds, cruise made it effortless.

Boy am I glad I had it installed from dealer on my furby! nice job though! and yes it saves loads of MPG, me trying to sit at '80' on the mway around 42mpg, using cruise get's me around 50mpg so well worth it.

So which cars/models are able to accept cruise as a retro-fit?

Not our cars unfortunately Steve (I've asked) - at least not without major work... I'm just going to have to control my throttle foot more - I'm aiming for 52+ mpg on the way to Duxford - should be quite possible I reckon, as after this amount of time, I think I'm used to keeping the old boot in the right position for that 75mph ultimate cruising speed.

So which cars/models are able to accept cruise as a retro-fit?

Answer - any recent VAG TDI engine, and any recent VAG Petrol engine with drive-by-wire throttle and Bosch engine management, eg 1.8T.
