Skoda Connect Renewal

Featured Replies

Can’t believe I’ve had Yogi for nearly a year already...

Anyway - just got an email telling me my Connect services are due to expire, and offering me discounts if I renew them before the end of March (they’re due to expire at the start of March).

The price for service extension is reduced until 31.03.2019 for Remote Access service to £36 (from the original £54) and for Infotainment Online service to £44 (from the original £63) starting from September 2018.

Is this in line with the pricing others have (or have not) renewed with?

I found the Infotainment online to be useless. Coupled with the archaic sat nav software, I didn't bother renewing my subscription. Satnav through Carplay works a gazillion times better.

Do you use the Remote access functionality? If you do, then why not renew it.

Yeah, I use CarPlay more often than not now... so I’m tempted to not bother.

And yes, being able to check I locked the car when I have a panic attack moment after getting on a train etc. is always useful. Not that I know what I’d do if I did find out I’d forgotten to lock it :D.

I just look back at the side view mirrors to see if they've folded in...

Not really an option when you’re already on the train and half-way to London...

Although, apparently there is a lock/unlock feature available on cars produced after November 2018 (so MY19). Anyone got this enabled / used it?

Mines a MY19, and I don't appear to be able to lock via the app.

Looks like you have to verify your identity with the dealer and get it enabled...

You would have thought they’d do that at handover.

I bought via a broker, and had it delivered, so a big saving, but I guess it means these things don't get done... I'll pop into my local dealer, see if they can do anything

The side mirrors being folded doesn't tell you it's locked.  It tells you it has TRIED to lock.  If a door is still open, that you haven't noticed, the mirrors will fold, but the indicators won't flash.  The mirrors stay folded, but all the doors are unlocked!

Agreed, most of Connect is a gimmick, and most of the functions are available on a smart phone for free. Worthy of a tenner at best, not £80.
