How come there's not as many horror stories with vw or Audi with the same engines, do you guys think quality control might be tougher in those factories or something.

Skoda manufactured all the 1.2tsi engines for all vag brand in Mladá Boleslav afaik.

1.2tsi problems are dominated by failing cam chains and ignition leads/coils across all brands.

The Turbo itself is made by IHI in Japan

The actuator afaik is a MAHLE product

Just be mindful, any matter discussed openly on an open discussion forum (such as this) is open for all to see. This includes any dealers / manufacturers as well as other owners driving the same / similar products.

A google of 1.2 TSI turbo failure - first page has more VW hits than Skoda or Seat.

Is that a threat or a promise?

I have suspected for a long time that BRISKODA has a few MOLES, whose job are to dig up and undermine VAG insurrection.

1.2tsi failures??? Nah, not heard of them guv, just idle gossip. Mind you, come to think of it, I wonder what happened to Fred703? He seems to have disappeared since he posted that thread on his allegedly faulty 1.2tsi....

Neither- I have no association with the motor industry and would never do anything as nasty as report anyone - it's just a friendly "heads up alert" that you have discussed this matter in a public place and need to be aware that it is in the public domain for anyone to read ...

Skoda / VW would be great in court.

Maybe time they were there defending actions in Europe in a European court or one in England / Wales or Scotland or Northern Ireland.

They could maybe give evidence on how often deals are done with Warranty Companies that are not owned be VW, or with private individuals where 'confidentiality agreements had to be signed.

Funny how often VW Group lose court actions in the USA or Australia or how they never get to court as VW roll over admit the Fundamental design, manufacturing or materials, components or software, do Recalls, extend warranties etc.

Issues in the tens of thousands globally.

1.2 TSI / TFSI Euro 5

1.4 TSI / TFSI Twinchargers Euro 5

1.8 TSI / TFSI Euro 5

2.0 TSI / TFSI

DQ200 DSG's 2009-2012 then again 2013-2015. Then yet again 2015-2018, Failures.

:o It was a joke man! :bearhug: Chill!

In the future, in order to aid the slower members among us (not referring to Smileyman obviously) I think I will precede (or occasionally follow) my lighter comments with this smiley : :poolparty: - meaning "this comment not to be taken (too) seriously"

I don't care what a dealer/garage/manufacturer may think about my comments, as they are neither libellous or slanderous. I plead the 1st amendment....or is it the 3rd.... maybe the 5th....in any case its an odd number, I think....what? Not in Europe? really? :poolparty:

Which Disgraced Ex CEO of the VW Group would be in court as they take action against you for Defamation?  Could they actually travel to the UK to appear in court without the risk of being arrested and then held with the possibility of being Extradited to a country with an arrest warrant for them.

Maybe they can spring an engineer or 3 from jail as character witnesses.

VW Group saying in court that you brought into question their good reputation for Honesty and reliability and exceptional customer services would be a sight to behold.

I got the car fixed today, I took it for a drive, it seems alright. I'm going to work in the morning, 26 miles, see what happens.

Let's see how long it's gonna last, I don't need another costly repair.

The mechanic left the old actuator in the car. What do I do with it, does anyone want a faulty turbo Wastegate actuator? ;)

ACTUATOR FIX!

CAR: Skoda Rapid, 175.000.km, 2015, 1.2, TSI, TDF.

Hello, Ive recently had EPC warning light in my Skoda, with OBCDII i got the fault code P334B. After reading several forums, i suspected the Actuator was the fault.
I wanted to take it off to check the inside for corrosion, or faulty gears but it was roughly corroded to the car and broke when i took it off. Youtube reference:

I havent checked the old actuator yet for the cause, but i assume for now its old, and there must be some resistance in the mechanicals.

I fitted a brand new actuator to the car, and calibrated the actuator by turning the ignition on and off 15 times, reference: https://uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?p=581337&sid=cc0f82ec805cf0cb0e2dcefeb609cb91#p581337

it has done 250km since replacement, and no EPC or engine warning lights has come on, car runs perfect.
