Mk1 headlights

Featured Replies

Hi folks.. My Mk1 (1999) Octavia needs the headlights changed. It has the really old ones, the ones with all the directional lines in the glass.. I can't seem to get any of these, and I'm wondering, do the next generation ones fit straight in?? The ones that are clear glass, from abt 2001??

Thanks..

The original Octavia and facelift models have slightly different shaped headlamps.  I discovered this when I bought a set of pre-FL lamps for my FL mk1 and they wouldn't fit :(

BTW I happen to have a set of pre-FL headlamps if they're of interest?  No charge, just pay for carriage.

StickyMicky... Firstly, thanks for the reply, and secondly, thank you very much for that kind offer, that would be absolutely brilliant!!!! Can you hold onto them for me, and I'll PM you, to get organised for the carriage..

Again, you're very kind..

Not a problem, Jim.  I've had them for about 4 years so a while longer won't be a problem.

Now I need to find out where I put them for safe keeping ....

BTW you could try a Greenline post (if you're a Freedom member)  to see if anyone is heading your way via Lancashire.

I have a set of the clear lens ones that I replaced with LHD ones, if they fit and you want them again no cost, it will just be good to find a home or them.

I will be back in the UK at the end of the month, they are either already there or I will take them with me, they are boxed in the packaging that the LHD ones came in.

They were fitted to my 2002 MK1

They don't fit pre-facelift cars! :)

Took me longer than I'd hoped but I've finally found the glass-lensed mk1 preFL headlamps.

@optifree if you would like to get in touch we can arrange to get them over to you.
