As my Fabia 1.4 is band 'F' (road tax band), it gone up to

Mine's a 1.9 TDi and Mr Brown has knocked a Lady Godiva off for me. Life sucks, uh?

Did you look in the small print that says diesels are going up by

Check out the Government's own site - www.directgov.co.uk. All the new VED prices are there. I'm in band C and will now pay £110 instead of £115.

Loads of Briskodians discussed this yesterday and they all can't be wrong!

That's right. My dad drives (and sometimes) pushes a '97 Rover 414. No increase or reduction in tax.

:iagree: March 2001 I think. I'm lucky my car's an end of March 2001 car.

No problem - still, there's always someone worse off than yourself. Except Gordon Brown ain't that someone.

I got my tax 2 or 3 weeks ago, so I guess I'm lucky...well...till next year!

Thats crap, no reduction for my X reg 1.4 16v, I suppose. :(

Great, how the frell do I know what my car kicks out; or SWMBO polo who is about to get tax today but has no idea what co2 figures she has...oh well off to google

Time for a sticky then...

Both my cars are pre 2001, one a 2.0 Mondeo, the other a 3.2 Boxster. Both are going to cost just £170 to tax.

So my post March 2001 1.8T vRS is going to set me back £190 and Janes 1.9TDi clouds of smoke vRS £110

What an absolute joke re 4x4's being a few pounds more (not that I agree they should pay more.I agree they are penalised at the pumps already)

What a load of window dressing re the environment.

I still think they should put a bigger tax on tyres that are sized for 4x4's.

It's on the V5 of all cars registered after March 2001.

 After March 2001. Which annoys me somewhat as the smart diesel is 90kgofwhatsitwhateveritis, but 'cos it's pre-March 2001 I have to pay

lol glad I bought VRS now! same tax as my 1.2 16v clio!!! :)

any other hot hatches are £190... unlucky!

I can see it now, the rangerovers with 165/65/13's

thats something ive always wondered about,so does your car get away with it cause the "car" was registered in 2001 and not the engine(which i think is a 2003 one)?

The thing i can't understand is that they say that band 'f' has gone up by £25.

I'm not great at maths (or spelling), but the .GOV site says that band 'f' is now £190.

Before mine was £150, I could be wrong, but surly that's a £40 rise and not £25!:thumbdwn:

£15 might not seem like allot of money to some people, but to me it looks like nearly double what Mr Brown said.
