Auto Express Top 100

Featured Replies

Anyone seen this weeks Auto Express with their top 100?

We've got position 2 (Octavia) & 5 (Fabia). Strange how equivelant VAG motors are so far behind?

Linkie? :D:thumbup:

don't forget value for money comes into play too. Skoda's are far better value for money than the equivalent VW.

also people buying skoda cos they are cheap may find that their expectations are low as it's "cheaper" but are suprised when it's the same high quality

The seat Cupra net thread is a gem

They seem get very negative...

Then again maybe I would if I had spent an extra 2k on the same car ;)

basically it's like an introductory offer to get people interested ina brand, once they have you the price will start to increase, i see the next gen fabia been more inline with seat prices.

Wow... Look at those Seat Cupra guys go... :D :D

Grapes and Sour spring to mind

Maybe, but the next gen Ibiza will be a touch more aswell, its all relative.

Hardly like Skoda is a new brand.

Hardly like Skoda is a new brand.

It is to the majority of the motoring public like me. I have to hold my hands up and say that if you'd have told me 3-4 years ago that I'd be driving a Skoda..............

I then realised that badges aren't the "be all and end all", I cringe now when I think about how I used to drive around in my 316i thinking I'd "Made it"

Same here, if someone had said I would be driving a Skoda 3 years ago I'd have looked horrified - but then I drove one :D

And hence why Skoda are well advised to keep their quality up and prices down. Most people view Skodas the same as the guys on Cupranet, if not considerably worse - to get bums on seats they need to have a good selling point, and nothing sells like a percieved bargain.

As for the styling of the Fabia vs Ibiza, well beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say, but I much prefer the vRS to the Ibiza Sport, the slightly facelifted FR looks darn nice though.:)

I drove both before I bought.

The VrS drove better than the FR. It felt better inside and felt like a much better package at the price. The service at the dealers also came into it, the Seat dealer was not a patch on the Skoda dealer

It's my opinion and my was my choice and thats the key for anyone, it's YOUR choice.

Two surveys say the same things. Not that what they say makes much difference to me because I have already bought the car but I can't say I understand the attitude of that thread.

Seat or Skoda?

TBH if the package is right then it could be Trabant next sat on my drive.
