Why doesn’t someone just rename my post to “my car has been remapped and now it’s faster”

There you go.

It won't stop the 'discussion' though. ;)

  • The difference between (XDS-traction control) and the VAQ electronic diff was demonstrated around the Nurburgring where 2 identical Golf Gti's driven by the same driver were separated by 8 seconds ove

  • Whoa, we've all had a bit too much 0-60 quoting for today, so let's just all sit down, reflect  and have the nice cup of shut the f**k up

So your tuner turned around and told you your 1600kg FWD saloon does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds which is inline with a BTCC car 😂

I thought that Revo was a reputable and quality company, so I thought that their website would be correct:

https://www.onlyrevo.com/product-details/software/skoda/superb-mk3-2015-/243/stage-1

Read all of that and then tell me whether my expectations were unrealistic.

Dont worry about it @drewellis having been a passenger in your car i would deffo say yours is circa 300hp. As its just as quick as my leon cupra ST 4drive which is 300ps.

I'll paste it here **** it 😆

Power Torque
Stock 220ps  258lbft
REVO Stage 1 Software from 313ps to 333ps from 320lbft to360lbft

Stage 1

Performance Software

With an impressive 217bhp as standard matched with a fantastic chassis, this isn’t a slow car but even our initial feasibility studies showed huge room for improvement. Our R&D involved months of extensive beta testing on cars all over the globe; in Russia, South Africa, Germany, Asia, the USA and the UK ensuring our testing covered an array of atmospheric variations.

Our Stage 1 software upgrade is flashed through the ODB-II port leaving the factory ECU intact and providing peak gains well in excess of 300BHP. Whilst the peak gains are impressive, this doesn’t tell the full story; our software has been refined to give you increased torque and power throughout the rev range without compromising on drivability, smoothness or power delivery. What does this mean in the real world? Well, our own development vehicles see the 0-60mph sprint in just over 4 seconds (on road tyres with regular pump fuel).

On-Road Testing

Testing on a dyno will only ever tell part of the story. Revo believes in data-logging on the road and racetrack as well as testing in controlled dyno conditions, to give you a clearer picture of the performance you can expect. This plays an important role in the Revo development process, ensuring the highest quality products that perform where and when it matters most.

SPS Settings (Software Switching)
  • Setting #1 on your SPS sets your vehicle to stock*
  • Setting #2 on your SPS sets your vehicle to Revo Performance mode A (Tuned for lower octane pump fuel/poor operating conditions)
  • Setting #3 on your SPS sets your vehicle to Revo Performance mode B (Tuned for high octane pump fuel/good operating conditions)
  • Setting #4 on your SPS sets your vehicle to Anti-Theft mode
  • *NOTE: Stock mode is not completely stock, it will run similar performance levels to a stock vehicle. Your Revo dealer has a complete factory stock file, if any main dealer warranty or servicing work is required, we recommend returning your vehicle to complete stock.

There are options for which performance modes are flashed to your vehicle:

  • 95ron, 97ron and Anti-Theft
  • 95ron, 98ron and Anti-Theft

How’s a dyno day going to prove your 0-60 of 4.5 seconds? The stuff you posted is copy and pasted from all 2 litre tfsi maps. Exact same wondering on the golf r page

If you read it, he is quoting what he got told.... Then says he reckons itll be more like 5.5 seconds... The op never said he has done it or recorded it at 4.5 just what they told him.

Which is complete and utter bs but he doesn’t want to accept it 😂 get it hooked up to a vbox and let’s see

I am calm you’re the one believing and claiming all this bs 😂

sure come up here and we can run 3 different ones and I’ll put money on it getting no where near 4.5 seconds to 60.

I did say I didn't believe the 4.5 0-60 time, I've even had the title of this thread changed...

I might get my car tested on a rolling road before and after the air intake I'm adding, so I will hopefully be able to provide a printout for the bhp figure.

As for the 0-60 figure if there's a northern meet and someone has a vbox we can use to test, I'd be happy to do so!

I never doubted the power figure I even posted a video of a 220 superb making over 300 with just a tuning box. It’s the claimed performance that’s laughable.

What sort of exhaust is that, looks similar to the Supersprint one

A stage one, 220 with FWD? ...I would guess at high 5's...possibly mid 5's in 'optimal' conditions ???

So back on page 1 I recall guessing that a mapped 220 such as the OP's would likely achieve ^^^.  Having just read an article in Evo based on an ABT tuned GTI TCR (FWD) with 335bhp and 371lb/ft with a quoted 5.4 secs 0-60, I'm sticking by my speculative guess that the OP's car would be high 5's, possibly in the 6's due to weigh deficit.

If it were an AWD equipped car then that figure would easily be in the 4's but I still maintain that 300bhp is about the point of diminishing returns when tuning (most) FWD cars.

Actually torque increases from 280lb/ft in the TCR to 317lb/ft. My AmD tuned Octavia pushes out 380lb/ft and would probably do 0-60mph in 5.5seconds on a dry surface.

Ah yeah, I got my numbers the wrong way round.

5.5 secs...might need a tailwind and cold day 😃
