Rising rev needle ??

Featured Replies

Hi guys sorry I know it isn’t a Skoda post, but anyone I have left this car to they have no idea. I was wondering if anyone here would know. The car is an 2012 Audi A1 2.0tdi. The problem is, for a while now when you start the car up the rev needle slowly rises to 1000rpm. I don’t know if this is anything serious or not. It does every time you start the car up but when the car is warm and you start it, it goes straight to 1000rpm.

Any ideas?

Thanks again

Sorry it’s not a long video it won’t let me upload a proper one. It literaly goes from 800rpm to 1000rpm and stays at 1000rmp

Battery low charge? Does car idle back to 800rpm later on the drive?

Throttle body error or not, more fuel to air ratio? To warm up engine quicker?

DPF clean does this, but not when engine is just started up from cold?

Have you found answer to this?
