TOMTOM SATNAV

Featured Replies

I don’t like the SatNav which comes with my Karoq SE L. It appears very similar (if not the same) to my previous car, a SEAT. I much prefer TomTom as I have been using one for many years and like the live traffic updates and find it very reliable.

I use a Brodit Proclip mount which is very simple to fit. I use the higher mount which can be positioned as I have it or over the drivers side if you prefer. They also do a lower one.

Hope the pics give you an idea if you’ve never used Proclip mounts ..... they are do phone mounts too.

I do like that mount, I bought the lower one but only to hold  my  phone , I might get one of theses for my Ipod , i dont mind the sat nav

if i want somthing different I use Google maps via car play.

Looks ok with the Tom Tom in position but looks messy when it's not attached.

I use Waze via my phone, never really got on with car in built systems....

I can see why you may think it looks messy Nicky_P but its actually better in reality ...... although I don't mind much how it looks as long as it does a good job ..... and I have used Brodit Proclip mounts in my last 4 cars :)

Exactly. As long as you are happy with it thats all that matters.

I use a stick on magnetic phone holder which is pretty good and holds the phone very securely. In the Karoq I use Waze on the main screen via android auto.

I too prefer my TomTom to the built in satnav - maybe it's because I'm used to it, but I find the setting up much easier. My TT sits on a mat on the lidded compartment atop the dash, never moves during travelling & is easily viewed, but as they say, each to their own !

I’m a “Garmin 6” stuck on the screen” man myself :)
