LED VRS 2014 side light bulbs

Recommended Posts

Greetings!

I have recently changed the nasty/dim w5w/501s side light bulbs for LEDs. Fitted approx a week ago no problems. However, yesterday a bulb error came up on the dash for both front side lights.

Can this be coded out? With VCDS or OBD11?

Thanks,

Dan

Are they still lit, i had some LED's in my sidelights and started getting an intermittant bulb out warning, my issue was that the thin wire connection for the 5W5 bulb had broken inside the bulb. New LED's fitted and all ok again.

thought so cheers. I've got an OBD11 but have never tried coding with it. Has anyone coded with OBD11 devices? Just type in the VCDS code?

Controller 09

Security Access 31347

Adaptations

(1)-Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9-Lasttyp 16 to 6 - LED Lichtmodul
(1)-Leuchte17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3-Lasttyp 17 to 6 - LED Lichtmodul

It's exactly as the instructions show, go into the controller, enter the security code, go into adaptations. Find the channels for each sidelight 16 and 17, then change lasttyp from 5w halogen to LED Lichtmodul.

I use OBDEleven for coding and adaptations, it works a treat.

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Just tried to change the side lights to led using the advice above on obd11.

Once I change the value to 6, I confirm and it asks for a login code. I tried the 31347 but it gave me an error..

Any ideas?

Oh; make sure you haven't been locked out for 10 mins.....you really need VCDS or ODBEleven Pro for this.  If you enter in the wrong code (and there could be up to three different combinations for your car), it will freeze you out and not allow you to change the values.  If it isn't accepting codes, ignition on for 10 mins (do not start the car) and let the lock-out timer expire.
