Heater Fan fuse keeps blowing

Featured Replies

Hi,

can anyone help?

I have so far replaced the Heater Blower/Fan resistor, the Heater Blower/Fan motor, the Actuator Flap Motor & cleaned out the filter.

I have checked all in situ & all flaps, motors & fans seem fine, after being replaced.

The issue is that even now after replacing all these with new branded parts, after about a 5 minute drive the 40A door fuse blows, when using the heat & fan together.

I have the VAGCOM diagnostics software & the last time I ran it prior to replacing the flap motor is was saying the flap motor was intermittent, but this is a new unit now??!

I will run the diagnostics again but feel that I have pretty much replaced the whole system now!

Anyone any other ideas.... loathed to take it to the garage after having done all this work, …. bad earth??

Many thanks

Niki

@NSparks - HI Niki, you have an electrical fault that does not submit to easy diagnosis. It's too bad that you've thrown all those new parts at it, because what you really need is a good auto electrician.
