One Xenon light not working .....

Featured Replies

Two weeks ago my passenger xenon stopped working. Bought 2 cheap DS2 bulbs from eBay and tried both but neither work.

Have changed fuse 50 and 54 but still not working.

All the wiring looks ok and I’m now out of ideas?!?

The only thing I haven’t tried is to take the working bulb and change it over as it started to rain, but other than that, any other suggestions before I bite the bullet and fork out for some new headlights as my MOT is this Wednesday.

Changed the bulbs around, still no joy so have to assume the light itself is knackered :@

Probably the ballast which has failed. Theres little in the headlight itself to fail other than if a wire has broken which is repairable.

try swapping the ballast over to see if that works

That’s kinda what I’ve decided is the issue. I have huge hands, so it’s a bumper off job for me and having already done it three time’s today I’ve had enough :D

Most likely ballast as above, Try the "non-working" bulb in the working side and you'll know if it's the ballast for sure then

I put the working bulb in the other headlight, which didn’t work, put it back so I had 1 working headlight for the drive back to Bristol from South Devon:blush

As I needed new bulbs anyway decided to put the money in Hutchy’s pocket in exchange for a fully refurbed set
