Licence plate bolt troubles

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help with this, it's so stupid.

I have taken my private plate off of my 2004 Fabia Vrs which was stuck on with the sticky pads,

they have left a total mess of lumpy bits of foam and gluey residue which I have tried and tried to remove with white spirit, sticky stuff remover, IPA, etc. No Joy.

So i am unable to stick the new plate on with sticky pads.

So to put the new registration plate on i was going to bolt it on, I have drilled the plate to suit the holes on the car.

I bought some plate fixings from halfords but they don't fit, the bolt is too big in diameter... but looking online it seems everywhere does the same plastic bolts or the self tapping screws.

I don't suppose anyone knows which bolts i need ?

Help!

(No problem with the front plate as you can use the self tapping screws as it goes into plastic, not the case at the back)

Why don't you just enlarge the holes to suit the fixings?
