I’ve posted here a few times and you guys have been a tremendous help, so here I am again for some help & advice!

 

Long Story short, the rear bumper off another vehicle came off and hit my 58 Plate Skoda superb on the motorway. 

 

The cosmetic  damage is minor, however, the mounting on the headlight cluster on the passenger side has  snapped. I’m also missing the little headlight washer cover. 

 

Does anyone know of a breaker / specialist or anyone with those parts? I’ve been ringing around for days and can’t find anybody. I’m based in Manchester and willing to drive to collect.

The mount can be fixed easy enough with some plastic glue or even getting it plastic welded. There is loads of glues out there for plastic that will fix it no problem. Hopefully this is of some help to you

Did you happen to catch the registration of the car that lost its bumper? You might be able to get their insurance to cough up.

 

Failing that I think some high-strength epoxy resin is worth a shot for the headlamp mount before you go spending a lot of money on a replacement. Use some sandpaper to roughen the surfaces first and make sure all surfaces are well cleaned with white spirit before you apply the resin. Build up the resin around the two pieces to maximise the contact area between the adhesive and the plastic surfaces.
