OBDEleven Help required

Featured Replies

I now have OBDEleven Pro and avoiding using the apps so doing adaptations or long coding to enable some pretty cool features, but am failing big time with a few (listed below). Can anyone help me with the right settings to change for an 18MY VRS (large camera and lane assist already activated)  please?

Trouble getting the following to work

Cornering Fogs

High beam assist

Traffic Sign recognition

I know on VCDS when I tried to do a few tweaks on an FL car, the adaptations didn't work (or I couldn't find out how to work them) or had do be done a different way to how you'd do them on a pre-FL car.

Sounds like you're having the same issue just on obdeleven

you say you have an MY18, does that have the LED lights? I have recently coded my MY19 to have High beam assist and traffic sign recognition with obdeleven. Which coding are you using? Either send me the coding you are using or post it up and i'll see where you might be going wrong

@ExSEAT I do indeed have full LED Lights. The Coding I've tried is:

Skoda Octavia 3 FL Style with LED AFS headlights 05/2017

1 - Module 09. Code (31347)
2 - Adaptation
3 - Leuchte12NL LB45
4 - Lichtfunktion B12 -- (Change value to Abbiegelicht links) <-- I had nicht aktiv
5 - Dimmwert AB12 -- (Change value to 100) <-- I had 100
6 - Dimming direction AB12 -- (Change value to Maximize) <-- missing row
7 - Leuchte13NL RB5
8 - Lichtfunktion B13 -- ((Change value to Abbiegelicht rechts) <-- I had nicht aktiv
9 - Dimmwert AB13 -- (Change value to 100) <-- I had 100
10 - Dimming direction AB13 -- (Change value to Maximize) <-- missing row

Adaptation
Control unit: 09 Central Electrics
Name: Static AFS light
Values: <-- I had 0
Maximaltemperatur:
New value: 100.0 °C
untere Grenztemperatur:
New value: 80.0 °C
obere Grenztemperatur:
New value: 95.0 °C

Indeed, but that hasn't worked LOL For HBA and TSR I followed the instructions here:

@Maggle Yup those ones arent going to work for you. The high beam assist is for the old lights. I have some easier to follow coding on my laptop. I can send them or post them up here whatevers best for you

That would be great. For the greater good, post them up here, could help others too.

Ok so this one is for high beam assist. Its written as a guide for myself taken from something I was sent. I think it originally came from a user called wg100 so credit goes to them. In the guide it mentions soft resets but I couldnt get my module to soft reset. Make sure you go through one step at a time so all changes are logged...

HIGH BEAM ASSIST FOR LED LIGHTS

Procedure:

  • Ensure light switch is off
  • Conduct a soft reset when accepting each change
  • Reset Light menu to factory settings after coding to display new menu option

Controller 09 - Central Electrics
Security Access - 16: 31347

Adaptations  - 10

- Search for Fernlicht to narrow down the options

- Menusteuerung Fernlichtassistent Werkeinstellung: Set to PRESENT

- Menusteuerung Fernlichtassistent: Set to PRESENT

- Erwiterte Fernlichtsteuerung: Set to AFS: FLA: FERNLICHT UEBER AFS
Menu option for "Light Assist" should be available in the Lights section of the Car settings menu (may require a factory reset of Light menu).

If you want HBA to remain active, with light switch in Auto, then code the following
- Fernlichtassistent Reset: Set to NOT ACTIVE

Controller A5 - Front Sensor
Coding (using experimental coding values)

-Byte 19, Bit 0-3 (00 FLA_Additional_High_Beam,no_Additional_High_Beam

-Byte 19, Bit 4-7 (20 FLA_Headinglight_Type,LED)

-Byte 21, Bit 5-7 (20 AFS_coding_Light_Assist,High_Beam_Assist)

Controller 4B - Multifunction Module
Coding (using experimental coding values)

-Byte 11, Bit 6 (High Beam Assistance,Enabled) NOTE: I couldnt get this to work on the long coding, instead I changed the text on the first screen of the coding section, done the trick!)

You may get an error pop up regarding Headlight Range Control. To clear this, go to Controller 4B, Basic Settings.
-Basic Headlamp setting -> Go
-Acknowledge basic setting -> Go

Obviously using this is at your own risk! Good luck

Traffic Sign Recognition coding...

Just realised I didnt have this on a word file so Ive transcribed it..

Module 5F - Adaptations

Car_Function_list_gen2

                                   Traffic_sign_recognition_0x21  SET TO: Active

Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu

                                   menu_display_road_sign_identification SET TO: Active

Module A5 - Long Coding

Byte 16, Bit 4 (check box)

Module 17 - Long Coding

Byte 5, Bit 2 (check box)

Give the entertainment unit a reset, you should find the menu under (I think) driver assist in the car section. Turn it on and you are away.

Again, use at your own risk but this is what I did and all is good!

@ExSEAT Thanks for your help, I shall shortly give it a go and report back on how it went

Good stuff, if you can find the coding to lower the activation speed of HBA Id be very grateful, Ive been all over every module and cant find it!

Well, I tried your instructions and......low and behold I now have HBA and TSR working as described. Can't thank you enough for that. Will look into the activation speed of HBA and report back if I find anything. What do you think it defaults to?

Jesus I've not personally looked at obdelevern but this all looks super complicated lol

It's not too bad actually, if you follow the steps then it's relatively straightforward

I was told it was 60kph, so maybe about 37mph? No good for me living in the lakes and taking backroads, would be dropping off at every sharp bend!

Glad it all worked for you, I cant take any credit though as these were passed to me and I was helped greatly by Sasha.

It can be but once you understand it you can find your way around. Thats why I rewrite the instructions into my own language so I understand it before I get to the car!

Just come across this on another thread, haven't tested it yet, so use with caution but let me know if you have any success if you try it before me, I shall try sometime tomorrow.

Optional settings

17. Controller A5

18. Security Access Code: 20103

19. Adaptation

20. High beam assist urban detection area – Switch to No

21. Speed that HBA active set to 20kph

22. Speed that HBA deactivate set to 10kph

23. Change lux code to 10

Finally, go into the vehicle menu on the head unit, go to light settings and select ‘light assist’

Push the left stalk towards the front of the car, it should show the HBA logo at the bottom of the Maxidot.

@Maggle Ive been in the adaptations tonight and cant find those settings. I maybe just missed them.

Hope this is helpful for you, I have changed my HBA to a lower activation speed because of tight country lanes on my commute. I've screenshot the change from my obd

If so, it's a control unit I don't have ;-(

@Maggle thats what I was thinking!

Yes

I'll have to check my tablet as well, I use both my phone and tablet with OBD eleven and that's from my phone, I'm not sure how well it syncs across device's on the same account.

Failing that I will connect up to the car tonight and post my findings then.

@Stonkerthankyou very much. I think we are on a loser here if that module number is correct but I appreciate you taking the time to look!

Module 20 is the "low spec" camera which can only do HBA, module A5 is the "high spec" camera which can do lane assist & traffic sign recognition and can be coded to do HBA.
